7 LSU Players Drafted In 2008 NFL Draft

Yep, seven LSU players were drafted today and yesterday in the 2008 NFL draft.
As we discussed yesterday, Glenn Dorsey was picked 5th in the first round to play with Kansas City Chiefs. He should have been picked 2nd or 3rd, but whatever.
In the third round of the 2008 NFL draft, Chevis Jackson, Jacob Hester, and Early Doucet were called up. Jackson was the the 5th player chosen in the 3rd round, and he will be playing for the Atlanta Falcons. My main man Jacob Hester (maybe my favorite LSU football player ever!) was the 6th pick in the third round, and he will be playing for the San Diego Chargers. Early Doucet was the 18th pick, and he was chosen by the Arizona Cardinals.
My second favorite LSU player, Craig Steltz, was chosen as the 21st pick in the fourth round. He will be with the Chicago Bears (da Bears) next year.
Two LSU players were chosen in the 7th round of the 2008 NFL draft. Matt Flynn was the 2nd pick in the 7th round, and he will be with the Green Bay Packers (yeah!). Keith Zinger squeezed in as the 25th pick for the Atlanta falcons in the 7th round.
Two LSU players that rock weren’t drafted: Ali Highsmith and Jonathan Zenon. I’m really shocked about Highsmith. They are saying that some medical problems held him back, but he was a true super star for LSU. Go figure huh? I’m sure both of these guys will make it as free agents.
We’re really happy that Matt Flynn was chosen. I know that he may not be a great pro quarterback, but you have to respect the man that led the Tigers to a national championship.
All in all, it was a good two days for LSU football. It’s nice to see that the pros gave a lot of respect to our players, and Lord knows they deserve it!
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
