Ryan Perrilloux Sends Transfer Papers To Jacksonville State
May 19th, 2008 by gtull1
We read a story in the USA Today about former LSU football quarterback Ryan Perrilloux transferring to Jacksonville State. Both Alec and I swear that this will be the last time we talk about this fool, at least for a long tome. Here are the main pieces of the article that we found interesting:
“I’m just trying to take this step by step,” Perrilloux said. “I’m focusing on setting a positive example and leading by example and not by just words. I learned a lot from coach Miles. I want to thank coach Miles and LSU for helping me to grow up and help me become a better person. Coach Crowe has been very positive. He said he just wants me to move forward and forget about the past. I think a lot of coach Crowe. He reminds me a lot of coach Miles.”
“Ryan will be under very close scrutiny here,” Crowe said. “And he knows that. He came here not to be entertained on a recruiting visit. He came here to be interrogated, and he was. He knows he’s going to be watched.”
“I’ll always be a Tiger in my heart,” Perrilloux said. “I’ll miss the fans. I’ll miss my teammates and the coaches. But this is a great opportunity for me to move forward. I feel like Jacksonville State is the school I can be successful at.” “Coach Miles did what he had to do with me,” he said. “I respect him to the fullest. I take full responsibility for all my actions while I was at LSU. I really learned a lot at LSU. I grew up a lot thanks to LSU. LSU made me a better person.”
When questioned about whether Perrilloux would change anything, “Oh definitely, if I could do it all over, I’d change a lot of things I did,” Perrilloux said in a cellular phone interview with Gannett on Wednesday night after faxing his scholarship and transfer papers to Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala. “I’d be the guy who always shows up on time – the guy who’s the first one in the weight room.”
He almost sounds like a mature leader in this interview huh? Too bad he was anything but at LSU! Ok. Rant over. No more Perrilloux. We promise!
Last but not least, we have some friends in the LSU Football Forums. 12 of you have registered so far. Hopefully it will become a bit more exciting in there when the 2008 season gets closer. To those of you that have registered, thank you!
GEAUX TIGERS!!

About Mr. USA TODAY H.S.Football, (R.P.)
I am sorry that he could not get his act together off the field. The God given talent he has is quite impressive and is really at an unusual level. His playing in the Tenn game-SEC Champ game-after not being a ’starter’ all year, coupled with the neutral site, both teams hype level, and then his badly cut and bleeding finger, and he still squeezed out a good solid game. He can run, fake read, pass and throw the Deep ball — very well. The one thing I didn’t see him do while at LSU was to be a leader. In the larger programs like LSU and countless other schools, the QB is so monumentally important that they have to be very careful on AND OFF the field.
I will miss seeing him play for our beloved Tigers, but as many have so accurately stated, better that this situation is resolved in the summer than in the fall. Maybe at the Alabama school he can really turn things around. I truly wish him well. But yes…he did indeed mess up his own ’starting’ year at one of the best schools in these United States-my personal favorite school-LSU.
Be better Ryan-
