LSU Baseball’s Win Streak Is Over
Jun 7th, 2008 by gtull1

Congratulations to the LSU baseball team for winning 23 games in a row!! That is absolutely insane. Of course all good things can’t last forever. LSU just lost the first game in the best of three series against UC Irvine.
The final score was 11-5. This was a pretty good stomping, but it might have gone the other way if not for a bad call in the 6th inning. LSU had 2 outs with the bases loaded. The Anteaters then pulled off the hidden ball play. It worked really well, but the LSU runner was able to beat out the tag by 1/2 a step. The ref didn’t see the play at all, but that didn’t stop him from calling LSU out. That ended the inning where all of the momentum was on LSU’s side. Our third base coach was then thrown out of the game for arguing with the umps, and the rest was history.
We’ll get a second shot at the Anteaters tomorrow. LSU needs to win the next two in a row to make it back to Omaha. I don’t know about you, but I think it’s our destiny.
GEAUX TIGERS!!!
