Is Betting On LSU Dumb?

Is it dumb to bet on LSU? Is it dumb to bet on college sport, or any sport, period? That’s what my wife always tells me. As badly as Alec wants to play along, I won’t let him until he’s grown, but I can tell you that I have had a lot of fun “wagering” on LSU over the years, and it has actually been pretty dang profitable.
Before we get much further, let’s make sure we know what we’re talking about. When I say “wager” in this post, I’m not talking about “money”. Ok? Why am I not talking about wagering money on LSU? Because it’s illegal! Let’s just say that I am wagering peanuts. So I bet so many peanuts against others every week on the outcome of certain games, most importantly LSU games.
In years past I have used one dumb system very well. I always bet against LSU. Nope, I’m not a trader. I just know that the hype around LSU always throws too many points against them. From what I have observed, and done very well with, LSU rarely beats the spread. This little “system” has really done well with me for a long time.
Recently, I decided to step it up a notch. I started wagering a lot more on other games, even games and sports that I’m not very familiar with. Now this is where my wife started calling me nuts! lol But here’s the deal: I have a seperate little account of “peanuts” that I play with. When I do well, I have more peanuts. If I ever lose all of my wagers and run out of nuts (aint gonna happen!), that’s it. I’m done!
So a few weeks ago I bough this system that a friend has been bragging about lately (you can see it HERE if you want to). I spent a good bit on it, but it’s really looking good so far. If my gut is right, I should make my money back on what I spent on this system within a week or two. If I’m wrong, I’ll just have to start lowering the number of peanuts I wager with.
So what do you all think about this? Do you bet on LSU, or any sport? Is it dumb to you? I know a lot of folks get caught up in it and lose their shirt, but I’ve honestly done really well with holding myself steady on my wagers so far. How about you?
